We want to bring Japanese Hagiyaki to people all over the world.

Welcome to TANAKA-NL!
We came to the Netherlands in the spring of 2024 in the hope that many people would get to know Japanese Hagi ware.
We offer B to B business to European restaurants, general shops, cafés, tea houses, florists and general shops.
On weekends, we also participate in markets and various events around the Netherlands.
This site is dedicated to B to B.
If you are interested in doing business with us, please go to the contact page.

What is Hagi ware?
Hagi-yaki = Hagi ware is a traditional Japanese pottery made in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, with a history of over 400 years. Alongside Kyoto's Raku ware and Saga's Karatsu ware, Hagi ware is well- known as one of Japan's three major tea ceramics. Its simplicity, lack of excessive decoration, and natural warm tones create a striking contrast with the vibrant green of matcha. For this reason, Hagi ware has long been highly valued in the world of tea ceremonies.

Hagi-ware begins with the extraction of raw clay from the mountains and the preparation of clay by water sifting.
It is by no means cheap.
Many people are involved until a single piece of work is completed.
We want you to hold the work in your hands once.
You will become attached to it and be captivated by it.
We hope that Hagiyaki will reach you.
